7.2.1 MIPSpro Fortran 90 Front End Release Notes
- 2 -
1. _I_n_t_r_o_d_u_c_t_i_o_n
This document contains information about the
7.2.1 MIPSpro Fortran 90 compiler. The release
is an update of the 7.2 release which provided a
completely new front-end and and modified back-
end based on the MIPSpro 7.2 compiler back-end.
The MIPSpro F90 compiler supports compilation in
either 64-bit mode with -_6_4 or the new high
performance 32-bit (n32) mode with -_n_3_2. In
64-bit mode, the POINTER data type is 64 bits in
size (all other data types are the same size as
in n32 mode).
The MIPSpro Fortran 90 compiler supports the
Fortran 90 language as specified in the ISO/ANSI
standard. While Fortran 90 is a superset of
Fortran 77 and therefore supports that language
as well, there have been many extensions
implemented in F77 over the years that are not
included in F90.

This displays the _g_r_e_l_n_o_t_e_s(1) graphical browser
for the online release notes. Refer to the
_g_r_e_l_n_o_t_e_s(1) man page for information on options
to this command.
If you do not have a graphics system, you can
use the _r_e_l_n_o_t_e_s command. Refer to the
_r_e_l_n_o_t_e_s(1) man page for accessing the online
